We will comply to court orders: PCB

Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board has said it would comply with all the orders of the Sindh High Court, which issued a stay order on the disciplinary proceedings against Pakistan's sacked One-day captain Shahid Afridi.

Subhan Ahmed, the Chief Operating Officer of the board told PTI that the PCB would defend its disciplinary case against Afridi in the High Court at the hearing on Thursday.
"We will be contesting the petition filed by Afridi but whatever orders the court gives we will comply with that," he said.
Earlier on the day, the feud between Afridi and PCB reached the courts with the Sindh High Court issuing a stay order on the disciplinary proceedings against the all-rounder, whose lawyers had filed a petition.
The lawyers also challenged the formation of the disciplinary committee and prayed to the court to form an impartial inquiry committee to probe into the whole affair.
"We have told the court we don't have confidence in the disciplinary committee and its proceedings and the court should constitute an independent body to look into the matter," lawyer Ali Zafar said.
Subhan said that the board would welcome and accept any directives from the court to constitute a committee to look into the disciplinary proceedings against Afridi.
"We have followed all procedures while initiating disciplinary action against Afridi as per laid down in our constitution. Our legal team and officials will appear in court as per directives of the court," he said.
Zafar said the court has suspended the committee (hearings) and PCB is bound to abide by the High Court.
"They have been asked to appear before the High Court day after tomorrow and the punishments stand null and void as of now," Zafar said.
The PCB had initiated disciplinary proceedings against Afridi for violating the clauses of his central contract in making a unilateral announcement to retire from international cricket and making disparaging remarks against board officials and team management.
The dispute broke out after the board removed Afridi as captain of the One-day team before the series against Ireland without giving any reason for its decision.
The board had ordered Afridi to appear before the disciplinary committee on Wednesday in Lahore but he and his lawyers have challenged the process being followed in the case against him by the board.
